Miniature Horsemanship Camp

Kateland Farms will be hosting a summer camp this year:
     July 7-11, 2008  9am-4pm
     July 28-Aug 1, 2008 9am-4pm

This hands on camp teaches a variety of horse care and management skills.  Each student will be assigned a horse and be responsible for its care throughout the week.  The students will be able to develop a bond with the horse over the week and at the end of the week, they will have the opportunity to participate in a show with the horse they have cared for.  The following subjects will be covered during the camp: safety, handling, grooming, hoof care, feeding, exercise, stable care and competition classes such as horsemanship, jumping, obstacle and driving.  A show will be held on Friday and each student will have the opportunity to participate in a breed style competition including showmanship, halter, jumping, obstacle and driving.  Ribbons will be awarded, however this is meant to be a fun experience and not stressful in any way.  A sportsmanship award will be presented to one student.  In addition a participation award will be made by each student along with a camp T-shirt.

Cost- $250.00
Drinks will be provided for lunch but we do ask that each student pack a lunch.
